BETWEEN CUSINE AND DANCE THE THOUSANDS SIDES OF VALLÌ
“Learning to walk sets you free. Learning to dance gives you the greatest freedom of all: to express with your whole self the person you are.”
M. Hayden
Today, I wanted to create a special cake, a tribute cake to dance a with raspberry and rosebuds mousse.
Perhaps not everyone knows that Vallì is Valentina’s culinary side…
While Vallì started cooking at 6, Valentina started dancing at the same age…
Like cooking, dancing was love at first sight, that love that enters you, that unique love that makes you shine and be yourself, that love that surrounds you and makes you feel at home.
“DANCE STARTS WHEN WORDS END”
Alexandre Tairoff
Dance was a way of communication and expression, with which I could finally freely express the lightness and everything I had inside… While the kitchen was the way to express affection to the people I loved. I could almost say that after all: “the kitchen started where the embrace was having difficulty” to me.
Dancing for me meant salvation
In February, few weeks before my granny passed away, she gave me a dancer that I had drawn and she had kept for all these years… she had put it in one of those plastic cover so that it would not get ruined… it was a dancer from Degas.
As a child I loved Degas’ dancers. I was so in love with them that my granny bought me two books dedicated to his works. I was leafing through them and again and again, then I was taking my granny’s tin box full of colored pencils and tring to draw his ballerinas in my own way of course and but above all they had to be strictly blue… because, for those who have not yet understood ita, it’s my favorite color.
Even though in the two musical academies they all cataloged me more like a singer or an actress, inside my heart dance was always in the first place.
And it still is there today, even though I haven’t seriously danced out there for a few years.
It never fails that between one preparation and another I find myself twirling and dancing in the 2 square meters available… while Dave and Spillo stare at me as if I were a little crazy…
Well, in fact I am. LOL
…it’s an instinct…
…an unstoppable need…
As soon as I feel a note my body starts to move with it, and that’s why today that it’s the international dance day I wanted to create this special cake. The tribute cake to dance with raspberry and rosebuds mousse.
Delicate, but at the same time determined…
Extravagant but at the same time classic…
Simply pink (although blue would have been more to me. LoL)
